Keith Nowland is currently serving as the President of the Chamber. Keith worked in public education for 15 years as a teacher and principal prior to opening Keith Nowland State Farm in Eudora in 2005.
Keith has two children, Jack and Nikki. He believes it’s the responsibility of local businesses to be active chamber members and give back to the community that supports their enterprises.
Tim Bruce, Past President
Tim Bruce has been in the construction industry since 1997, starting out in excavation in the Lawrence, KS area. He worked for three years for a large construction firm in Houston and returned to the Lawrence area to work for RF Benchmark Construction as a project manager and is currently the President and CEO. He also serves as a Eudora City Commissioner.
Tim is married to Ami and they have three children, Preston, Porter and Piper. When the weather allows they love to be on their boat.
Jeremiah Holcomb, President-Elect
Jeremiah and his wife, Megan moved their family (Titus & Asher) to Eudora in July of 2015 to plant The Refuge Christian Church, a non-denominational Christian church. With his 13 years of full-time ministry experience, he is grateful for the reception the Holcomb family has received in this beautiful community.
The Refuge Christian Church opened their doors with their first worship service, December 13, 2015 out of Eudora Middle School where they currently meet on Sunday Mornings at 10:30 AM. The Refuge Christian Church’s purpose is To restore relationships with God.
Jason Oehlert, Treasurer & CVB Representative
Jason Oehlert is a Eudora resident, currently serving on the board as Treasurer. Jason worked in banking for 16 years and is currently the finance director for Eudora Schools.
Jason and his wife Sparkle have two children, Norah and Cooper. Jason is the Treasurer for the Eudora Chamber and an active member of the Eudora CVB.
Rachel Weitekamp, Secretary
Rachel Weitekamp is currently serving on the board as Chamber Secretary. Rachel became the owner of Amanda’s Dance Academy in 2014. In 2015 she rebranded the studio to Sunflower State Dance where she serves as artistic director and owner.
Rachel is an Illinois native and excited to now be a Kansan. She graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Psychology and Dance. Miss Rachel is thrilled to be a part of the Eudora Chamber of Commerce and is dedicated to bringing the arts to the community.
Grant High, Member At Large
Grant High is a current Eudora Resident and lifelong resident of Douglas County. Grant graduated from Eudora High School in 2003 where he was actively involved in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). After graduation he attended both Johnson County Community College and the University of Kansas, during which time he was actively involved with SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise). He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree. Upon graduation, Grant left his five year position at JCCC as an Administrative Assistant for the Dean of Business and Technology to take a full-time position at Mutual Savings Association in Eudora. In 2014, after five years at Mutual Savings Association, he left to accept a position at Kaw Valley State Bank as the Front-Line Customer Service Coordinator. In his spare time he enjoys serving at church, spending time with family, eating out frequently, and not exercising enough.
Sue Howig, Member At Large
Sue Howig was born in Charleston, WV. Moved to Lawrence in 1964. She graduated from Lawrence High in 1969 and attended KU 1970-1973. Sue worked as a purchasing agent for 14 years for Fortune 100 company, owned a residential and commercial cleaning company, a pallet recycling facility, and a construction company in Lawrence. Sue relocated to Eudora in 2005 and opened Sweet Acres Inn, a B&B, in Oct. of 2014. She is also the bookkeeper for Project Lydia - a 501c non-profit that imports jewelry, purses, soap, facial products and baskets all made by women in small villages in Uganda.
Sue has a daughter, stepson and two grandchildren and serves as the clerk on the church council at Eudora Baptist Church. She enjoys cooking, knitting and crocheting, gardening, traveling and entertaining.
Leslie Herring, City Representative
Assistant to the City Manager Leslie Herring serves as the City representative to the Board of Directors. She works on recruitment and retention efforts for the City and serves as City representative to the Eudora Convention & Visitors Bureau, Douglas County Joint Economic Development Council, and Douglas County E-Community. Before coming to Eudora in June 2016, Leslie worked in the public sector for the Olathe City Manager’s Office and the Douglas County Administrator’s Office, and in the private sector in the legal and banking fields and in the restaurant service industry.
Leslie is a native Kansan and a graduate of the University of Kansas, from which she holds a B.A. in political science and an M.P.A. with an emphasis in local government management.
Mary Kirkendoll, Project Coordinator
Mary Kirkendoll is currently serving as Project Coordinator for the Chamber. Mary opened the doors of the Eudora Yoga Center on August 1, 2015 and is committed to providing the highest quality yoga to Eudora and the surrounding communities.
Along with her passion for teaching yoga, she has a doctorate in music from KU, loves rock climbing, surfing, snowboarding, & jumping on trampolines. Mary lives with her husband Mike (KU piano professor), her mother Marie, and her dog Mr. Sam.
